In addition to eye tracking systems, ISCAN has applied it’s tracking expertise to a host of other situations where the automatic, real time measurement of the position and size of objects or fiducials within a camera’s field of view is beneficial. We have developed instrumentation that can lock onto and track a single desired object or report information on up to 256 targets simultaneously and work with infrared, gray scale or color image scenarios. ISCAN is able to create or customize, and produce in volume, electronic hardware, software, optics and mechanical components on a case by case basis to meet the wide ranging needs of our customers.
The ability to automatically lock onto and track targets of interest within a camera’s field of view is of fundamental importance in a large number of defense applications. ISCAN has completed numerous projects with major defense contractors to supply systems addressing these needs. Project areas include optical anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, missile seekers, optical ranging, automatic landing and docking, unmanned vehicle targeting, navigation and auto-focusing and open ocean horizon target detection.
Real time knowledge of the precise position, size and orientation of objects within a camera’s field of view is often important in industrial applications. ISCAN has produced systems for use in the automated inspection of parts and as an adjunct to efficient operation of robotic work cells.
In the eye related medical area, ISCAN has developed specialized systems for tracking the movement of contact lenses and interocular lenses in situ. Our tracking systems are also used in specific applications for the precise measurement of body and limb movements.
